Pursuant to Document No. 1582/VNNIC dated May 16, 2024, issued by the Vietnam Internet Network Center (VNNIC) regarding the implementation of conclusions from the Professional Conference for “.VN” Domain Name Registrars, VNNIC requires registrars to implement 100% identity verification for individual registrants using eKYC technology when registering and managing national domain names “.VN”.
To ensure compliance with regulatory authorities, we would like to respectfully announce the following to our Partners and Customers:
- Scope of Application
- All individual registrants registering new “.VN” domain names from June 22, 2026.
- Individual registrants who registered new “.VN” domain names from May 16, 2024 to June 21, 2026 are required to complete supplementary eKYC verification as required by regulations.
- Verification Requirements
- Individual registrants must undergo identity verification via eKYC technology.
- Registration files will only be completed once the eKYC verification process is successful.
- Manual verification by simply submitting ID document photos without performing eKYC will not be accepted.
- Effective Date
- Mandatory application starting from June 22, 2026.
The implementation of eKYC aims to enhance the accuracy of registrant information, ensure security and transparency in national Internet resource management, and comply with existing VNNIC regulations.
